Access VRS instantly

with our InSignLanguage app!

All you need to do is download the App, create an account and our British Sign Language Interpreters are a touch of a button away.

By having instant access via our Video Relay Service, you can communicate directly with your hearing peers, giving you the ability to communicate there and then.

What is VRS?

VRS stands for Video Relay Services which allows Deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired individuals to communicate with hearing people in real-time via a Sign Language Interpreter through the use of different technologies, such as smart phone, tablet, laptop or PC.

VRS is much simpler than making advanced bookings face to face and can avoid the frustrations of last minute cancellations and rescheduling. So instead, we are proposing another alternative communication method which is our VRS package.

Our VRS package will enable you to contact an interpreter for your needs when and as often as you need. Just download the App, pay per minute and top up once your credit has run out. It’s as easy as that.

VRS calls can be made through a smart phone, laptop or tablet, just make sure you have a reliable internet connection and you’re good to go.

We have reasonable packages available for VRS depending on how many minutes needed, and this service is initially available for 8 hours a day, and will soon be rolled out to 24 hours a day.

Additionally, with instant messaging services also available on the App, the InSignLanguage App makes communicating so much easier, with options to suit you.

All of our services are complimentary to each other.

Who are our Interpreters?

Service is offered live with our vetted, valued and qualified British Sign Language interpreters registered with the NRCPD, who will be suitably visible on screen for interpreting. The user experience is designed to give a good and clear understanding to the deaf and hearing parties in the conversation.

Are your calls recorded?

Yes, as part of our aim to deliver a high-quality service we have found it useful to record our communications and keep them for 6 months before discarding them, to improve the usability of our offering. All recordings are subject to UK data protection law and are only used for internal product development. The recordings will be proof of the conversation in the event of a dispute. Agreeing to our terms is consenting to record the VRS conversations with the purpose of developing the service.

What warranties do we provide?

We warrant that the service will be carried out with reasonable skill and care by interpreters whose qualifications and experience are appropriate for the tasks to which they are allocated and will have been vetted by us.

Access to the software for communication with the interpreter at the service booking is provided using third party internet and communication networks over which we have no control. We provide no warranties that the software will be available, uninterrupted, error-free or of any type of quality during the call. We provide no warranties if the interpreter time slot is cancelled, delayed, interrupted, extended or rescheduled due to software failure.

The warranties stated above are the only warranties we provide, and we exclude all other conditions, warranties, representations or other terms that might otherwise be implied or incorporated into this Agreement by law, such as (but not limited to) those of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose or ability.
