July 2025 News

It has been a busy, full-on couple of weeks and we have some successes to share with you!

  1. A Royal Welcome

The Royal Collection Trust (www.rct.uk) has employed one of our Deaf clients as a Summer Warden at Buckingham Palace! 🎉 With seamless training, brilliant support from Katrina Gwynne-Jones, Fateha Begum, and our amazing RSLI interpreters, Eugenie has hit the ground running and is loving her role greeting visitors. A heartfelt thank-you to the team at Royal Collection Trust for championing accessibility in such an iconic space.

  1. Signed Stories at the Museum

The National Trust has booked not one, but two interpreted tours this weekend—in both Irish Sign Language and British Sign Language. We're thrilled to see this commitment to inclusive experiences. Thanks to Tracy Winchester paving the way!

  1. Creativity in Action at British Deaf Association

Our talented team member Ismael Mansoor took the stage at the BDA Annual Conference in Leeds to perform his original poem—in sign language. An unforgettable moment of expression and pride.

  1. Opening Doors to Opportunity

We at InSignLanguage Ltd arranged interviews for seven Deaf clients across various employers, after providing tailored CV support and interview coaching. One client has already accepted a role—huge congrats to her! Here's to more success stories ahead.

  1. A Ballet Worth Signing About

Our Deaf professionals Deeshi Sekhon and Katrina Gwynne-Jones were invited to a signed performance of "Il Trovatore" at the Royal Ballet and Opera (rbo.org.uk) in Covent Garden. Their insights as Deaf audience members were deeply valued by the organisation.  As Katrina Gwynne-Jones beautifully put it: “It was truly a magical evening for both Jagdeesh and me—an experience we’ll always remember and treasure.” Huge thanks to RBO for showcasing how cultural institutions can lead in inclusivity.
