Role Overview: 

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Specialist for the Translation Team to support the delivery of high-quality translations for our accessibility solutions. In this role, you will work closely with our translation and technology teams to ensure content is accurately translated into British Sign Language (BSL) and other formats. You will also support the development of AI-powered solutions, such as 3D avatars for sign language, and maintain our commitment to accessibility and inclusivity. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Content Translation: Support the translation of written content into British Sign Language (BSL) and other accessible formats, ensuring accuracy and cultural sensitivity. 

• Quality Assurance: Review translations to ensure they meet quality standards and align with the intended message. 

• Collaboration: Work closely with the AI development team to ensure translations integrate seamlessly with 3D avatar technology and other accessibility tools. 

• Terminology Management: Maintain and update glossaries, style guides, and reference materials to ensure consistency in translations. 

• Reporting: Track translation progress and challenges, providing updates to the team and ensuring deadlines are met. 

 

Must-Have Qualifications: 

• BSL Fluency: Fluency in British Sign Language is essential. 

• Translation Experience: Prior experience in translation or interpretation, particularly in sign language, is beneficial. 

• Right to Work in the UK: Must have the legal right to work in the UK. 

• Communication Skills: Proficient in written English with excellent attention to detail.

• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable working with translation tools, AI-powered technology, and other digital platforms. 

• Organised and Detail-Oriented: Capable of managing multiple translation projects with accuracy and efficiency.

• Knowledge of Accessibility Standards: Understanding of the unique needs of Deaf communities and best practices in creating accessible content. 

• Willingness to Learn: Open to training on InSignLanguage solutions and AI technology.
