About us

InSignLanguage is a UK-based accessibility tech company on a mission to make communication inclusive for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community. We offer cutting-edge solutions like Video Relay Services (VRS), Deaf Awareness Training, and AI-powered 3D sign language avatars that translate written content into British Sign Language (BSL).
Our team is remote-first, values-driven, and deeply committed to innovation, inclusion, and impact. We work closely with Deaf professionals and clients from public, private, and nonprofit sectors to create a world where accessibility is the default — not an afterthought.

Job Description

We’re hiring! InSignLanguage is looking for a confident, professional Deaf Translator who is also happy to present on video, to join our Marketing Team and become the human face of our BSL translations. If you’re a fluent BSL signer with a strong on-camera presence and a passion for accessibility, this could be your perfect fit.
As our Deaf Translator and Video Presenter, you’ll be creating high-quality BSL video translations of written content for websites, apps, internal communications, and more. You’ll help us provide accessible, high-impact communication that makes a real difference for the UK Deaf community.
This role starts as part-time or freelance, with the possibility to grow into a full-time position as demand increases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate written English content into British Sign Language (BSL).

  • Film professional-grade video clips using your own studio setup.

  • Collaborate with our marketing and content teams to bring translation scripts to life.

  • Represent the InSignLanguage brand with clarity, charisma, and cultural awareness.

  • Deliver consistent, high-quality output on agreed timelines.

  • Assist our AI development team with quality control.

Requirements

  • A native/fluent BSL user, holding a BSL Level 6 qualification, and an NRCPD approved Translation certification.

  • Confident on camera, with a clear and engaging signing style.

  • Professional appearance and able to adapt tone for different audiences.

  • Have your own home or studio filming setup (high-quality camera, lighting, neutral background).

  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines reliably.

  • Enthusiastic about making information accessible and being a visible part of inclusive change.

Benefits

  • Flexible working arrangement (remote & freelance-friendly).

  • Supportive and inclusive team, passionate about Deaf accessibility.

  • Opportunity to grow with the company and become a long-term part of our public-facing team.

  • A meaningful role where your work directly improves lives.
