Video Relay Service (VRS) Use Policy

Purpose of This Policy

InSignLanguage’s Video Relay Service (VRS) provides safe and ethical remote communication between Deaf and hearing people through qualified BSL interpreters. This policy explains when VRS is appropriate, the types of calls it can support, and situations where specialist or face‑to‑face interpreting is required to protect caller safety, privacy and wellbeing.

🧭 2. Before You Use the VRS Link

To access and use the VRS at https://videorelayservice.azurewebsites.net/, you must:

✔️ Complete our Career Network onboarding process
✔️ Agree to our full Terms & Conditions


🟦 Why do we require onboarding?
It ensures we understand your communication needs and can safely and correctly assign the right interpreter support.


➡️ We cannot provide online or face‑to‑face interpreting through the VRS link until onboarding is complete and you’ve confirmed your commitment to our services.

📅 3. Booking a VRS Session

Once you’ve completed onboarding, you can book interpreting sessions confidently.


When booking, please note:

🕒 Interpreter availability may vary
✋ We cannot fulfil any bookings until onboarding is finalised
📌 Booking a session means you commit to following our processes and guidelines


We’ll always do our best to support you with a smooth, positive experience.

🤝 4. Using the Video Relay Service
