Service Description

You have a one-hour meeting soon with a Deaf colleague, a client, a new starter, or a presentation you need to make accessible. Book two sign language interpreters for it, online, up to 24 hours before it starts. BOOKED TOMORROW, NOT NEXT MONTH Get qualified, experienced and professional interpreters to provide necessary accessibility in your online meetings, and your hour becomes their priority. The service can be used on weekdays, whenever there is availability on the scheduling calnedar. Please feel welcome to book more than one slot in a day if you need to. Each hour is protected by a 15 minute buffer, to ensure the interpreterscan operate at their peak and you can have continuity of service, which can be very useful. TWO INTERPRETERS, SO THE HOUR HOLDS UP An hour of signing is sustained work, and a solo interpreter eventually needs a break. A team does not. Working as co-interpreters, they switch lead roles every 15 to 20 minutes, or whenever a natural transition point arises. Even when not actively signing, the support interpreter is fully engaged - tracking names, catching numbers, and feeding key terminology. We follow the best practices so that the interpreters can provide their best service. TELL US WHAT THE MEETING IS Give us your requirements on the booking form and we allocate the interpreters to match them. That decision is ours and we make it before we confirm, so working out who you need is never your job. ON TEAMS, OR ON YOURS You host. Send us the joining link, or ask us to set a Teams meeting up for you. No venue, no travel and no expenses, which is much of why an hour can be arranged this quickly. SUBMIT YOUR PREP MATERIAL The form asks for your agenda, your slides and who is speaking. Both interpreters read it before they join. An hour is not long enough to learn your terminology as it goes, so this is the part that makes the difference on the day. PLANS CHANGE Reschedule or cancel free up to 12 hours before the start. WHO YOU GET Both interpreters are on the NRCPD register, bound by its code of conduct including confidentiality, and carry their own indemnity insurance. We name them before the day. InSignLanguage is certified to ISO 18841:2018, the international standard for interpreting services. We are the provider, not a marketplace putting you in touch with one.
