Service Description

A one-hour meeting where the detail matters: a health conversation, an HR or grievance meeting, a board or specialist discussion. Book two Registered sign language interpreters for it, online, up to 24 hours before it starts. TWO REGISTERED INTERPRETERS Both interpreters are Registered Sign Language Interpreters on the NRCPD register. That is the level to book when the Deaf person has asked for Registered interpreters, or when getting it right first time is the point of the meeting. BOOKED TOMORROW, NOT NEXT MONTH Our interpreters work in shifts, so your hour becomes their priority rather than something we look for cover for after you book. Book any weekday slot the calendar shows as free, and book more than one hour in a day if you need to. Each hour is followed by a 15-minute buffer, so the interpreters start every session fresh. A TEAM, SO THE HOUR HOLDS UP An hour of signing is sustained work. Working as co-interpreters, they switch lead roles every 15 to 20 minutes, or whenever a natural transition point arises. The support interpreter stays fully engaged, tracking names, catching numbers and feeding key terminology. ON TEAMS, OR ON YOURS You host. Send us the joining link, or ask us to set up a Teams meeting for you. No venue, no travel and no expenses. SEND YOUR PREP MATERIAL The booking form asks for your agenda, your slides and who is speaking. Both interpreters read it before they join. On a specialist subject, this is what makes the difference on the day. PLANS CHANGE Reschedule or cancel free up to 12 hours before the start. WHO YOU GET Both interpreters are bound by the NRCPD code of conduct, including confidentiality, and carry their own indemnity insurance. We name them before the day. InSignLanguage is certified to ISO 18841:2018, the international standard for interpreting services. We are the provider, not a marketplace putting you in touch with one.

Cancellation Policy

This policy covers this service only: one hour, online, two Registered interpreters, weekday daytime. 1. WHAT YOU ARE BOOKING 1.1 One hour, delivered by a team of two Registered Sign Language Interpreters working as co-interpreters. 1.2 Both are NRCPD-registered, bound by its code of conduct including confidentiality, and insured. 1.3 Both come from our on-shift team rather than being chosen by you, and your hour is their priority. We name them before the day. 1.4 Online only, on Teams or your own platform. No travel or expenses. 2. WHAT IT IS FOR, AND NOT FOR 2.1 It is for meetings where the outcome depends on getting it right first time: health conversations, HR and grievance meetings, specialist or technical content, and meetings where the Deaf person has asked for Registered interpreters. 2.2 Video does not suit some settings, including police interviews, court hearings, mental health assessments, tribunals, disciplinary or immigration hearings, and counselling or therapy. The full list is in our Remote Interpreting Policy. 2.3 Tell us about the meeting on the booking form. If it falls under 2.2, we contact you before the day to arrange face-to-face interpreters instead and cancel this booking free. 3. NOTICE AND AVAILABILITY 3.1 Book up to 24 hours before the start. 3.2 Weekday daytime, where both interpreters are free. 3.3 You may book more than one slot a day, as the calendar allows. 3.4 Same-day cover is not part of this service. 4. Tell us the platform and joining link, or ask us to set up a Teams link. 4.2 If the link changes, send the new one at once. 4.3 Camera on for anyone speaking and the Deaf participant. Tell us on the booking form; we agree it with you before the day. 5. CHANGING OR CANCELLING 5.1 Reschedule or cancel free up to 12 hours before the start, if a slot is free. 5.2 Inside 12 hours the session is delivered and charged in full. 5.3 If nobody joins, or the link fails and we cannot reach you, it is charged in full. 5.4 An interpreter need not wait more than 15 minutes past the start. 5.5 Consumers keep their statutory rights. If we cancel, we do not charge. Our Terms and Conditions of Service govern; where this differs, they apply. bookings@insignlanguage.co.uk
