Walking with Friends, Supporting Cancer Research

Every Step in Memory of Peter

On 18–19 July, Liz Hood, Founder of InSignLanguage, will be taking part in a 24-hour Relay For Life event alongside her wonderful yoga group, The Yogis, raising money for Cancer Research UK.

This challenge is deeply personal to Liz. She is walking in memory of her brother, Peter, who sadly passed away from cancer in January 2024. Every step taken during the relay will be a tribute to him and to the many families whose lives have been touched by cancer.

Why Relay For Life Matters

Relay For Life brings communities together to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and raise vital funds for life-saving cancer research. It is a powerful reminder that no one should face cancer alone.

Through her work at InSignLanguage, Liz sees every day how important community, accessibility, and supporting one another can be. These values are at the heart of both InSignLanguage and Relay For Life, bringing people together to make a positive difference.

Walking with The Yogis

Liz is proud to be walking alongside The Yogis, a supportive group brought together through a shared passion for yoga, wellbeing, and friendship.

Throughout the 24-hour event, team members will take turns walking to ensure that someone is always on the move. The challenge represents resilience, determination, and a commitment to supporting a cause that affects so many people.

Supporting Life-Saving Research

Every donation helps Cancer Research UK continue its ground-breaking work into the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.

In memory of Peter, and in support of countless others affected by cancer, Liz is inviting friends, family, colleagues, and supporters of InSignLanguage to contribute if they are able.

Hope is more than a word – it is the reason we walk, the reason we remember, and the reason we support life-saving cancer research.

Thank You

Whether through a donation, a social media share, or words of encouragement, every gesture of support makes a difference.

Liz and The Yogis are grateful for the kindness and generosity of everyone supporting their Relay For Life challenge. Together, we can help fund research that saves lives and work towards a future where more people survive cancer.
